More is More... Layering Necklaces

Layering Necklaces

When it comes to jewelry this season, more is more. Layering is the trend that’s taking over the streets, red carpets, and runways alike.

The key is to mix and match; all of the old jewelry taboos no longer apply. Mix metals -- gold and silver, bronze and steel. Layering is the perfect opportunity to make vintage pieces feel like new -- the small diamond charms that seem too delicate for today's look take on a new life when paired with a chunky statement piece and diamonds by the yard. It’s a great way to make your more simple pieces look a lot more substantial.

Who’s doing it:

How to do it:

Take 1, 2, or 3 delicate necklaces and throw them on. Charm necklaces, plain gold chains, silver strings… anything you want! Make sure they’re all different lengths, so that the ornaments don’t overlap.

While your charms don’t need to (in fact, they shouldn’t) thematically go together, its fun to pick charms that complement one another. Some of our favorites include hamsas, daggers, and animals.

Start layering! And in the comments section, post photos of you or anyone you know sporting this trend in order to win discounts and other amazing prizes from Periwinkle Blue!!! And come help us celebrate our grand opening this Tuesday!!!
